I’ve been on the record here to say that I’m absolutely vibrating with excitement at the prospect of seeing more Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. It has been nearly 15 years since season one, so excuse me if I’m stocked that we’re finally seeing New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt coming out way. However, it isn’t Crunchyroll that has secured this title for international release. Instead, Panty & Stocking season two is coming to Amazon’s Prime Video.
The announcement came as a bit of a surprise to me – Amazon is not a known player in the anime industry. Considering you can stream season one of Panty & Stocking on Crunchyroll, this felt like an easy win for the streamer. However, Prime Video announced that they would be streaming the long-awaited new episodes. New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt will arrive on Prime Video on July 9, 2025, with new episodes to follow weekly.
Fans who will be at Anime Expo 2025 will get a sneak peek of the first episode of Panty & Stocking season two, with both censored and uncensored versions taking place during the event. The fact that we’re getting a censored version of Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt is another interesting development – we wonder if there will be two different broadcasts. Considering how risqué the original show was, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise.
How Amazon’s Prime Video landed the rights to Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt season two we’ll probably never know but it could be a big win for the streamer. Anime is becoming bigger in overseas markets every year, though we’d say that New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt is a very interesting show to help them step into that space.
