Maybe it's just us, but recent comments from Stranger Things' most iconic baddie have our Hawkins-sense tingling. We're talking, of course, about Jamie Campbell Bower, who played the humanoid psychic monster Vecna and the man he was before (Henry Creel), in Netflix's scifi megahit. But anyway, the reason we're coming to you with this info, dear reader, is that Bower recently seemed to imply he wasn't done with the gig.

A few weeks after Vecna's arc wrapped with the rest of Stranger Things in the record-smashing season 5 finale, Campbell sat down with Spanish newspaper El País for a wide-ranging conversation on his career, his personal life, and of course, his prosthetics-heavy antagonist. And it's during this part of the article that our ears started perking up.

"In this series, to portray the monster Vecna," reads the post, written by Jorge Marzo Arauzo, "Bower had to endure long hours in makeup, he explained in an interview with EL PAÍS. He described his character’s finale as 'super emotional,' although he is unsure whether he has finished portraying Vecna."

Sorry, what??

Unfortunately, the outlet doesn't spell out exactly the quote from Bower that led them to write this sentence, so take this all with a grain of salt. Remember, too, that Bower played Henry Creel for a single scene live on Broadway just last month, tying the stage play Stranger Things: The First Shadow into the Netflix streaming series. Maybe all he means by that comment is that he'd make another cameo in the still-running show sometime down the line.

But without any more context, this comment could really be interpreted in so many ways, and Stranger Things fans are always eager for a good conspiracy theory (Conformitygate thruthers, I'm looking at you).. Whatever the case may be, we're going to be keeping an eye on Bower's schedule in the near future, and if he shows up on any make-up effects artists' Instagram pages, we'll be taking note.
