One of the biggest television events of the year is coming in just under a month, as The Boys Season 5 wraps up the series that has become a flagship for Prime Video. How well the show’s final episode lands with fans is going to be a huge part of what becomes The Boys’ legacy, but one cast member isn’t worried about how the series is going to wrap up.

During an interview to promote The Boys Season 5, Erin Moriarty, who has portrayed Annie “Starlight” January since Season 1, described the final episode as shocking, but not just in the way fans have gotten used to The Boys shocking us. “It’s a heartbreaking episode,” she explained. “It’s not overtly cynical. But it’s still an episode that really drives home the finality of the show and the characters that we’ve all become emotionally invested in, whether they’re good or bad. The point of the show is that these characters are nuanced. They aren’t black and white. So the losses of characters that you thought you weren’t rooting for can all of a sudden be emotional because no one is all bad and no one is all good on this show.”

Moriarty says that she knew the finale would be good the moment she picked up the script. “When I read the finale script, it was my favorite episode this season, as it should be… I’m just excited for fans to see it. I think the audience is going to be so immensely satisfied by the finale. I never like to give a resolute prediction like that, and I never have, but I’m saying it now because I have so much excitement and confidence in it.”

The Boys Season 5 is currently airing on Prime Video, with the final episode coming on May 20, 2026.

They are brash, unforgiving, and a little rough around the edges... and they're the good guys! The heroes of Prime Video's The Boys, led by Karl Urban's Butcher, go up against the 'superheroes' that is the Seven, led by Anthony Starr's Homelander, leader of the Seven. With that show's five seasons plus spinoffs such as Gen V, Diabolical, and reportedly more, there's a lot to the Boys Franchise, and we're here to help... with:
