The return of the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End anime is one of the most exciting things to happen this season (and that includes the third season of Jujutsu Kaisen). It isn’t just fans who are excited; other iconic manga creators put pen to paper to make unique art of Frieren and Himmel the Hero to mark the Frieren Season 2 release date. When the creator of Detective Conan is making fanart of your characters, you know you’ve made it.

For those keeping track, the Frieren: Season 2 release date was January 16, 2026. To mark the occasion, Gosho Aoyama, the creator of the iconic Detective Conan manga, drew an illustration of series star Frieren, which was shared by Frieren’s creators on social media. The caption on the image says “Congrats on the second season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.”
As if that wasn’t enough, Oreco Tachibana, creator of Firefly Wedding, also sent a new illustration with the caption “Congratulations on the second season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End” which was shared on social media over the weekend.
Frieren Season 2 has long been on our radar as one of the biggest anime of the year, but it is good to know that we aren’t alone in looking forward to its return. If you watched the first episode as it aired, chances are that the creators of Detective Conan and Firefly Wedding were watching alongside you. Hopefully, we’ll get some new fanart from both as the season goes on.
Crunchyroll is currently streaming Frieren Season 2 as it airs in Japan.
