DC’s All In era continues this summer with two fan-favorite creators returning to the publisher for a new miniseries that re-teams them with a character they have a proud history with — even if no one quite expected the reunion to happen the way it is. Wonder Woman creative team Greg Rucka and Nicola Scott are back together for the six-issue series Cheetah and Cheshire Rob the Justice League.
At least with a title like that, you know what the series is about… even if you don’t necessarily know the why of it all just yet.
Of course, it’s not as straightforward as the two villains planning a heist on the Justice League’s headquarters and getting away with it, though — that’s nowhere near enough story for six issues, for one thing. Instead, the twosome (who aren’t necessarily best friends to begin with) have to put together a crew that stands a chance of making it out of the job without being caught… or turning on each other and blowing the whole thing up before the job’s even over. Think of it as Ocean’s Eleven, if that movie featured bad guys with short fuses and gimmicks that could cause super-powered mischief.
“I won’t bury the lede,” Rucka, who describes the book as “a classic heist story told in a unique setting,” said in a statement. “This is a crew of villains, or at least nominal bad guys. Not one of them has access to — let alone would be welcomed aboard — the Justice League Watchtower. We’re not making this easy on them. But for Cheetah especially, this is an all-or-nothing play — she needs to do this job, and she’s not going to let anything, or anyone, keep her from getting what she’s after.”
So what are the thieves stealing? Rucka and DC aren’t saying, other than a tease that it’s “one of the most dangerous devices in the DCU.” Start your speculation engines. The preview of the first issue's opening pages don't provide any clues, unforunately:

As if returning to DC for the first time since 2019’s Lois Lane series wasn’t enough of a blast from the past for Rucka, it should also be noted that before he was a mover and shaker in comics — and certainly before he’d co-created Netflix action franchise The Old Guard, which originated as an Image Comics series he made with artist Leandro Fernández — Rucka was a crime writer, with his Atticus Kodiak series of novels being the calling card that brought him into comics in the first place. Which is to say, if anyone should be trusted to come up with a heist thriller set in the DCU, it’s Greg Rucka.
The series also means that he gets to collaborate with his Wonder Woman: Year One and Black Magick partner Nicola Scott once again, making the series even more of an irresistible object. Joining Rucka and Scott on the series are Annette Kwok and Troy Peteri, providing colors and letters, respectively.
Cheetah and Cheshire Rob the Justice League #1 will be released August 6.
