Read One Piece chapters 1–155 free on the Shonen Jump app before Netflix season 2

One Piece Season 2 is expected to end with the Drum Island arc from the manga - which happens to be where the free chapters end for a limited time.

With Netflix’s One Piece Season 2 fast approaching, it is the perfect time to get caught up on the manga. The entire run of Eiichiro Oda’s iconic manga is available on the Shonen Jump App for subscribers, but the publisher is hoping to turn fans of the live-action One Piece into manga fans by making every chapter Netflix has adapted (so far) available for free for a limited time.

While the move isn’t explicitly tied to the release of One Piece Season 2 on Netflix, the fact that Shonen Jump has announced that the first 155 chapters of One Piece are free to read on their app from now until April 10, 2026 is a pretty blatant bit of cross-promotion. Fans will recall that Chapter 155 of One Piece marks the end of the Drum Island arc in the manga, which just so happens to be the point where One Piece Season 2 is expected to end.

The thing is, though, that Drum Island is the first truly great arc of One Piece. It gives us some fantastic character development for Luffy and the world around him while also introducing the adorable monstrosity that is Tony Tony Chopper. So if you have been thinking about starting on the One Piece manga, this is a golden opportunity. If you make it to the end of Drum Island and you’re not hooked on One Piece, you never will be, and Shonen Jump knows it. Or if you watch One Piece Season 2 and immediately need more Luffy and the Straw Hats in your life, you can see for yourself how the manga compares. It is honestly a brilliant move by Shonen Jump.

One Piece Season 2 lands on Netflix on March 10, 2026, but you can get caught up on the first 155 chapters of the One Piece manga for free on the Shonen Jump App until April 10, 2026.
