After shattering all kinds of records at the box-office despite a simultaneous Peacock release, Blumhouse and Universal's Five Nights at Freddy's, the horror movie sensation of 2023 based on Scott Cawthon's video game series, will be available on Blu-ray formats, DVD, and digital sooner than expected, and it comes with never-before-seen bonus content.

The big dates are November 28, 2023, on digital and December 12, 2023, for 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD. This places the home release right in front of the Christmas season, making it a very attractive gift for any FNAF fanatic. In fact, the pre-orders are already up on Amazon. The all-new bonus content includes, according to the official press release, a behind-the-scenes look "at the making of the iconic animatronics and recreating the immersive world of the game." Read about the three listed bonus features below:

  • FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S: From Game to Big Screen - Feel the frights of Freddy Fazbear's come alive as the film recreates the game's world with immersive environments and wild surprises that'll haunt longtime fans and newcomers alike.
  • Killer Animatronics - Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy transform from cute and cuddly into creepy and killer through a combination of costumed performers and cutting-edge puppetry.
  • FIVE NIGHTS in Three Dimensions - FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S takes a two-dimensional game and turns it into a three-dimensional nightmare.

Fan speculation had led some to believe a darker, R-rated cut of the movie would show up for the home release, but director Emma Tammi shot down those rumors in late October. Looking at the official press release, we couldn't find any signs of a new cut either. And in case you were wondering: Yes, FNAF is still playing in many theaters given its impressive box office legs and the fact it hasn't faced any direct competition.

The Five Nights at Freddy's movie comes from producers Jason Blum (The Invisible Man, Get Out) and game creator Scott Cawthon. It was written by Scott Cawthon, Emma Tammi (The Wind), and Seth Cuddeback (Kelp), with Emma Tammi directing. Alongside Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games) in the main role, the film stars Matthew Lillard (Scream), Elizabeth Lail (Once Upon a Time), Kat Conner Sterling (A Week Away), Piper Rubio (Unstable), and Mary Stuart Masterson (Fried Green Tomatoes).

If you enjoyed the movie in cinemas and aren't a digital or physical collector, don't forget you can stream it right now on Peacock.
