A small change to Wolverine's Last Stand ability could change the balance of his playstyle for many players.

Live-service games require a lot of tinkering as they go along. Marvel Rivals isn’t just adding new characters and new maps all the time, it is also making fixes to bugs and tweaking the balance of the game to keep it fun and interesting. With that in mind, NetEase has made one significant change to the way that Wolverine’s Ultimate works, giving it a much-needed nerf in the upcoming June 2025 patch for Marvel Rivals.
Previously, Wolverine’s Ultimate, called Last Stand, would send enemies flying even if they had Unstoppable status. When the next Marvel Rivals patch lands on June 19, 2025, characters with Unstoppable status will no longer be tossed into the air by Wolverine’s Ultimate. This is a small change that will make Wolverine’s Last Stand ability much less devastating for players to get caught up in.
Other changes that are coming in the Marvel Rivals June 2025 patch are:
- Mister Fantastic will no longer take damage when hitting terrain while using his Flexible Elongation
- Fixed a bug that stopped Hulk’s charge bar from displaying properly
- Black Widow’s Pulse Rifle ability will now damage people and destructible objects
- Fixed a bug that caused Ultron’s Imperative: Patch from being canceled by certain actions
Overall, this is a smaller-than-usual patch for Marvel Rivals, especially compared to the last one that gave Strategist characters a much longed-for buff. This implies that the game is largely working as it should – at least until the next season introduces a couple of new characters and throws the balance all out of sorts once again.
