Forget Jeff Goldblum’s assertion that life finds a way; when it comes to horror franchise Final Destination, it’s death that always finds a way — and one that’s usually as amusing as it is complicated, like a Rube Goldberg machine of slaughter. After more than a decade, Final Destination is about to return to the big screen… and fans won’t have to wait long for its May release.
It’s been 14 years since Final Destination 5, and that movie was a prequel to the rest of the series — so, really, we haven’t had a ‘contemporary’ Final Destination movie since 2009’s The Final Destination. (We have a guide to watching the movies in order, if you're interested.) Don’t worry, though — the Final Destination: Bloodlines release date is May 16 2025. Wondering if it’s as deadly as its predecessors? Well, let’s take a look at the trailer to check:
Yeah, that seems right.
The official description of the movie, from Warner Bros. goes like this: “Plagued by a violent recurring nightmare, college student Stefanie heads home to track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle and save her family from the grisly demise that inevitably awaits them all.”
Final Destination: Bloodlines, directed by Adam Stein & Zach Lipovsky and written by Guy Busick & Lori Evans Taylor (from a story by Busick, Taylor, and Jon Watts), stars Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, with Brec Bassinger, and acting legend Tony Todd in his final role. The movie will be released in theaters May 16.
