Minions and Monsters release date: When the next entry in the Despicable Me franchise arrives

Forget Dungeons and Dragons, we have a new alliterative pair to think about this summer

Move over, Mad Monster Party! Not this time, Hotel Transylvania! This summer, if you're looking for spooky fun, Minions and Monsters has your number. The next entry in the Despicable Me franchise sees the yellow Minions facing some of their scariest challenges yet: monsters! So, when will the release date for Minions and Monsters finally arrive?

The Minions and Monsters release date is July 1st, 2026 in theaters. It has been about four years since the previous movie in the franchise, Minions: The Rise of Gru was released in 2022. The Despicable Me franchise, which is the highest-grossing animated franchise of all time, began with Despicable Me in 2010, which first introduced the breakout Minion characters. And while everyone's sure to go see Minions and Monsters, it is just one of the many big-screen release dates to mark on your calendar for this summer. Here's the official trailer for Minions and Monsters:

In Minions and Monsters, it's 1920 and the Minions are searching for monsters to cast in their monster movie. Naturally, this leads to more wacky, spooky hijinks than you can shake a banana at. The impressive voice cast not only features Pierre Coffin as the Minions, but it also includes such impressive additions as South Park co-creator and voice actor Trey Parker, Oscar-winning actor Allison Janney, comedic voice actor veterans Phil LaMarr and Bobby Moynihan, and The Dude himself, Jeff Bridges.

The theatrical release date for Minions and Monsters is July 1st, 2026.
