Ahsoka Season 2 is on its way to Disney+ in early 2027, letting Star Wars fans experience the next chapter in the ex-Jedi's storied saga, following appearances in The Clone Wars, Star Wars: Rebels and The Mandalorian. Here's what you need to remember about the previous season before Ahsoka returns to your screens, including what happened to Thrawn, Sabine Wren, and Ahsoka herself.

Who is Ahsoka Tano?

Ahsoka Tano was originally introduced in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The padawan of Anakin Skywalker, the man who would eventually become Darth Vader, Ahsoka's Jedi training took place over the course of The Clone Wars series, but when Order 66 was executed during the events of Star Wars: Episode III - The Revenge of the Sith, Ahsoka was forced to leave the Jedi Order and go into hiding.

She eventually became the secret agent known Fulcrum, as seen on Star Wars: Rebels, set between the prequel trilogy and the original Star Wars trilogy. By the period of The Mandalorian, Ahsoka had reclaimed her own identity and was hunting down remnants of the Empire. Her main focus was Grand Admiral Thrawn, a thread that followed her into the first season of her own series.

Who plays Ahsoka?

Rosario Dawson stepped into the role for the character's live action debut in a Season 2 episode of The Mandalorian, taking over from Ashley Eckstein, who'd voiced the character in animation. Following her Mandalorian appearances, the character returned in The Book of Boba Fett Season 1, and then went on to headline her own self-titled series after that, with Dawson in the role for both.

What happened in Ahsoka Season 1?

In the first season of Ahsoka, the character undertook a quest to locate two characters she'd encountered in the animated Star Wars: Rebels: Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) and Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi). While Thrawn was originally stranded in another galaxy, at the conclusion of Ahsoka Season 1, Thrawn had managed to return to "our" galaxy, leaving Ahsoka and Sabine Wren stranded there instead. They weren't there alone: former Jedi turned mercenaries Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati were also left in this second galaxy, with all four on the planet of Peridea... a planet that may have connections to the Force. 

As the season closed, Thrawn had rejoined the remaining Imperial forces and was planning to wage war on the New Republic, while Ahsoka had accepted her place as Sabine's mentor in training her in the ways of the Force. Ezra, meanwhile, had rejoined with the New Republic, including an emotional reunion with Hera Syndulla (Mary-Elizabeth Winstead). 

Season 2 of Ahsoka is slated for release on Disney+ in 2027.
