The Amazing Digital Circus cast share their favorite fan theories (and one they were glad to debunk)

The Amazing Digital Circus cast were relieved when the series finally disproved the ‘Jax is an NPC’ fan theory

If you haven’t seen The Amazing Digital Circus, then you’re missing one of the most mind-bending web series ever produced. Digital Circus is an animated web series about a group of humans who become trapped in a virtual reality game. It’s partially inspired by the Harlan Ellison story ‘I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream,’ and it’s just as crazy as it sounds.

The popularity of the series has spawned some interesting fan theories. However, the cast wants to set the record straight on a few of them.

“That Jax hit Gangle with his car or something? How? That makes no sense. Gangle is older than Jax,” Michael Kovach says during a spotlight panel at Emerald City Comic Con 2026. “Or that Jax was an NPC. That was a popular theory for a while,” Lizzie Freeman adds.

“That one went on for a while. I understand why the theory had any gravity to it, but I was so glad when we could finally disprove it,” Kovach says.

“There are theories that Caine is secretly a human, and nah. I think that sounds more of like a shock twist than a twist that really makes thematic or emotional sense,” Alex Rochon says.

The Amazing Digital Circus is streaming on YouTube and is also available on Netflix.
