With friends like Jax, who needs enemies?
If you’ve seen The Amazing Digital Circus, then you know that Jax can be a lot to put up with. He seems to take great pleasure in bullying everyone around him. However, the cast of the popular animated web series thinks there is more to Jax than meets the eye.
“This is a headcanon,” Lizzie Freeman says during a Digital Circus spotlight panel at Emerald City Comic Con 2026. “Everything we say here, these are headcanons. Not canon. I do like the theory that maybe Jax does secretly kind of like Gangle, and that’s why he bullies her. Like an elementary school boy.”
“Or maybe he just wants friends, but he’s too scared to open up,” Michael Kovach suggests.
“Tying into that, I feel like maybe Jax doesn’t really believe that or he genuinely believes that people like it when he’s mean to them because, I don’t know, he just doesn’t think this is all real. He’s rejected their humanity,” Alex Rochon says.
Perhaps there is more to Jax than any of us guessed. Or maybe he’s just a jerk. Either way, he’s certainly one of the most entertaining parts of The Amazing Digital Circus.
The Amazing Digital Circus is streaming on YouTube and is also available on Netflix.
