Daredevil: Born Again has a higher budget than earlier MCU shows, but don't expect more effects
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will still focus on a more grounded take on superheroes, even if the show has a higher budget than the Netflix shows.

One of the biggest rules of television, particularly in action shows, is that you can never go smaller than you did before. That is why Daredevil: Born Again is bringing in more characters and digging deeper into the MCU for Season 2. Part of that means increasing the budget per episode compared to the Netflix shows, but that doesn’t mean we should expect Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 to have a bunch of flashier special effects.
During a recent interview, Daredevil: Born Again showrunner Dario Scardapane and producer Sana Amanat explained that the larger budget for Season 2 isn’t going to be reflected in anyone’s special powers.
“Everything feels a bit more grounded [in Born Again]. And we intentionally want to do that. We don’t want to necessarily start having bright music, shiny powers running around.”
Amanat also said that they planned to do “some cool things” with Jessica Jones, who is slated to appear in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. This will include some “story-specific” things around what her superhuman powers really are. Whatever that means, just don’t expect it to be bright and flashy.
The increased budget of Daredevil: Born Again isn’t going to go directly to the effects department, but there is still plenty to spend the extra money on. With Mayor Fisk taking greater control of New York City and putting more pressure on vigilantes like Daredevil and Jessica Jones, there is still plenty of room for explosive conflict when Season 2 starts at 9pm Eastern on March 24, 2026.
