Dark Matter Season 2 release date: When the acclaimed sci-fi thriller series returns to Apple TV+
The show features heavy-hitters like Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly

In the acclaimed sci-fi thriller series Dark Matter, physicist Jason Dessen (Joel Edgerton) is abducted into a parallel universe where his life took a different path. Based on the 2016 bestselling novel by Blake Crouch, the show will soon return to Apple TV+ for another season of reality-bending drama and action.
Dark Matter Season 2 will debut on August 28th, 2026 on Apple TV+. The first episode of the ten-episode sophomore season will debut on that date, with new episodes released on a weekly basis. The Dark Matter Season 2 finale will debut on October 30th, 2026. It has been a couple of years since the previous season debuted on May 8th, 2026. Of course, the second season of Dark Matter is just one of the many release dates you'll want to keep track of in the months to come. In addition to Edgerton as Jason, the show also stars the Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Connelly as Daniela Dessen, Jason #1's wife. Alice Braga plays Amanda Lucas, who is Jason #2's girlfriend, and Oakes Fegley plays Jason #1 and Daniela's son Charlie Dessen. Rounding out the cast is Jimmi Simpson as Ryan Holder and Dayo Okeniyi as Leighton Vance.
Season 2 of Dark Matter will premiere on Apple TV+ on August 28th, 2026.
