Saturday Night Live Season 51 release date: When the show will return to NBC and Peacock live from New York

Saturday Night Live will return to NBC and Peacock for Season 51 this fall.

Saturday Night Live Season 51 is on its way to NBC, but the cast list may be somewhat different than fans of the long-running sketch comedy show expected. Plus, the show is expected to air its milestone 1,000th episode during its fifty-first season. So, when can you expect to see Saturday Night Live Season 51 debut on NBC and Peacock?

The Saturday Night Live Season 51 release date is Saturday, October 4 at 11:30 PM ET on NBC. The new episodes of the season will be available to stream the next day on Peacock. It will have been about five months since the final episode of SNL Season 50 aired on May 17, 2025. It is not currently clear how many episodes will comprise SNL Season 51, however Season 50 included twenty episodes. There are, of course, many upcoming TV release dates to look forward to this fall. Currently there is no trailer available for Saturday Night Live Season 51.

Season 51 of Saturday Night Live will welcome five new cast members. These are Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Kam Patterson, Veronika Slowikowska and Ben Marshall. Departing the show’s cast are Devon Walker, Emil Wakim, Heidi Gardner, Michael Longfellow and Ego Nwodim. Also departing the show are writers Celeste Yim, Rosebud Baker, John Higgins and Steven Castillo. Returning cast members include Michael Che, Mikey Day, Andrew Dismukes, Chloe Fineman, Marcello Hernández, James Austin Johnson, Colin Jost, Sarah Sherman, Kenan Thompson, Bowen Yang, Ashley Padilla and Jane Wickline.

The release date for Saturday Night Live Season 51 on NBC is October 4.
