Fox has produced animated hits like The Simpsons and Bob's Burgers, and now its latest adult animated show, Universal Basic Guys, is here. Created by Adam and Craig Malamut, Universal Basic Guys tells the story of two brothers, Mark and Hank Hoagies, who receive universal basic income after they lose their jobs. The show features the Malamut brothers as the Hoagies, respectively, while Fred Armisen voices a character named David.
The series debuted on September 8, and you can catch new episodes Sundays at 8:30/7:30c on Fox. You can also stream the first episode on Hulu now. Although Universal Basic Guys has received lukewarm reviews from critics with its first episode, the series has already been renewed for a second season by Fox. So here's to hoping that the show can improve as time goes on.
The Malamut Brothers are best known for creating animated shows around sports like The Champions and Game of Zones. Ahead of Universal Basic Guys' debut, the brothers signed a deal with Sony Pictures Television, one of the production companies behind Universal Basic Guys. Even if Universal Basic Guys doesn't end up being a hit, there is more to come for the Malamut Brothers.
Universal Basic Guys airs on Fox on Sundays at 8:30/7:30c, and can be streamed on Hulu.
