What to Watch This Weekend: Wednesday season 2 part 2, Taylor Kitsch returns in Dark Wolf, and Thursday Murder Club
Between Taylor Kitsch, Helen Mirren, and Jenna Ortega, we've got you covered for what to watch this weekend.

Popverse's top stories
- DC has unveiled a major new Wonder Woman villain over two years in the making, co-created by one of James Gunn's top writers
- Simon Kinberg on writing X-Men movies, producing Glenn Powell's The Running Man remake, and co-creating Star Wars Rebels [Popversations]
- Livestream Monster Hunter Wilds, Borderlands 4, Magic: The Gathering x Spider-Man, and more PAX West 2025 panels live
Who else is excited for a long three-day weekend thanks to Labor Day here in the U.S.? While some of the team is over in Seattle for PAX West and Atlanta for DragonCon, Chris and I are in our respective homes, and - what else - watching new shows on streaming. This weekend is a bumper crop from Netflix and Amazon's Prime Video, so let's get to it.
For the weekend beginning Friday, August 29, here is What to Watch This Weekend:
What to Watch This Weekend: Wednesday season 2 part 2

Spare me the sophomore slump expectations, as Wednesday season 2 has been every bit the gripping and quirky drama as its first season. Season 2, part 1, left us on a bit of a cliffhanger, so I'm heavily anticipating getting back to it and seeing how they get Wednesday Addams and her family out of these new situations they're in.
What to Watch This Weekend: Thursday Murder Club

If you like Only Murders in the Building, you'll love this murder mystery. Starring Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, and Ben Kingsley, with writer/director Chris Columbus of Home Alone and Harry Potter fame, Thursday Murder Club is about a group of retirees banding together to solve a heinous crime in their retirement community.
What to Watch This Weekend: Terminal List: Dark Wolf season 1

Picking up shades of my love for CBS's The Unit and Richard Marchinko's Seal Team books, Terminal List: Dark Wolf on Prime Video puts Taylor Kitsch in the gritty shoot-em-up that he seems to have been destined for for the past 20 years. For my money, disregard talk of this being a prequel to something else or the Chris Pratt involvement and instead enjoy it on its own merits as a great-looking military series.
Looking ahead, here's what to watch in September 2025 on streaming platforms.
