In the era of streaming, getting a physical release is a sign that a show has built an audience that extends beyond the subscribers to a particular platform. More than a year after it was released, the first season of Wednesday will no longer be a Netflix exclusive when it gets a DVD and Blu-ray release on March 26, 2024.

The series has become one of Netflix’s most popular shows, with a new season already in the works and potential a spin-off starring Fred Armisen’s Uncle Fester rumored. The upcoming physical release, which breaks the exclusivity that Netflix usually protects, is a sign that the streamer sees the show as a big potential earner for them and wants to capitalize on that popularity while they wait for the next and final season of Stranger Things to finally drop.

While streaming has certainly made viewing shows like Wednesday convenient, the almost revolving door of content landing and leaving and returning to streamers’ libraries makes having a home video copy vital to fans who want to be sure they’re always ready for a rewatch. The March release date for the Wednesday DVD and Blu-ray will give fans plenty of time to see stars Jenna Ortega as everyone’s favorite “creepy little freak” again before season two drops sometime in late 2024 or early 2025.

Wednesday also stars Emma Myers as Edin Sinclair, Wednesday’s overtly cheerful and friendly werewolf roommate, and even brought in Christina Ricci, who portrayed Wednesday Addams in 1991's The Addams Family and its sequel, Addams Family Values, as a teacher at Nevermore Academy. Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luiz Guzman’s chemistry as Morticia and Gomez was a notable highlight of the series, giving all the warmth and weirdness that the famous couple demands.

Wednesday gets a physical release on March 26, 2024, with an expected retail cost of $24.98 for the DVD and $29.98 for the Blu-ray.
