Five Nights at Freddy’s fans have been wondering about the fate of the Tales from the Pizzaplex graphic novel series, after the second volume disappeared from online listings ahead of its original September 5, 2025 release and already-revealed cover art was replaced by placeholder images. Despite reports to the contrary, however, neither book has been cancelled by the publisher — and both remain on track for release on a new schedule.
Concerns surrounding Five Nights at Freddy’s: Tales from the Pizzaplex Vol. 2 and Vol. 3 started emerging after fans noticed that Vol. 2 had been pulled from its original September 2025 release slot, and with the worry growing when it was later noted that previously revealed cover art for both books was no longer being used, with new placeholder images featuring only the logos for each book taking their place in catalog placements. The confusion over what was happening with the volumes was such that that it was even being reported that the second book had been cancelled.
That’s not actually the case. Sources tell Popverse that the release dates for both titles have simply been pushed out, with Volume 2 now due in May 2026, and Volume 3 in the fall of that year.
While the reason for the delay remains a mystery, it’s possible that publisher Scholastic and creators are reworking the books in response to criticism for the project that emerged after pages were leaked; after the books were pulled from their original release slot, one fan joked that “we bullied them so bad they done gone & cancelled the books,” prompting another to respond, “Honestly? Good. They can’t keep rushing their artists and delivering us straight up objectively bad art.”
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Tales from the Pizzaplex Vol. 2 is scheduled to be released in May 2026.
