Is Lex Luthor part of a new Suicide Squad? Man of Tomorrow teaser hints at 'Yes'

Let's take a closer look at the power suit that Lex Luthor wears in DC Studios's next blockbuster, Man of Tomorrow

Now that Supergirl is out in theaters, the race to next summer's Man of Tomorrow film is on. Thus far, we've gotten some teases of Superman and Lex Luthor's team-up. And last month, we got a glimpse of Lex Luthor's power suit in the film, thanks to a post by James Gunn. But upon closer inspection, there are details on Luthor's suit that hint at plot details in Man of Tomorrow.

Beyond how great Lex's power suit looks under the dramatic lighting, there's a logo worth taking note of on the chestplate - the A.R.G.U.S. logo. In case you're not familiar, A.R.G.U.S. is the acronym of a government organization called the Advanced Research Group Uniting Superhumans, and the group was featured prominently in both seasons of the Peacemaker show as well as Creature Commandos. A.R.G.U.S. was founded by Amanda Waller and is headed up in the new DCU by Rick Flag, Sr. It's the body behind both the Suicide Squad (Task Force X) and the Creature Commandos (Task Force M).

Does this mean that A.R.G.U.S. gives Lex his power suit in Man of Tomorrow? Looks like it, but we won't know for sure until the film comes out. Purely from an entertainment standpoint, a conversational face-off between Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor and Viola Davis's Amanda Waller would be what the kids call "absolute cinema."

Given that Lex Luthor wouldn't exactly fit the criteria defining the Creature Commandos or the Suicide Squad. So we'll have to wait and see if there's an entirely new team introduced in Man of Tomorrow.

Man of Tomorrow will be released in theaters on July 9, 2026.
