How to watch Dimension 20, from Fantasy High to Gladlands and everything in between
Is Dimension 20 beginner friendly? Where can I watch Dimension 20? Why does the internet love when Brennan Lee Mulligan gets mad? All this (well, most of it) is answered in Popverse's Dimension 20 watch order

Popverse's top stories
- Matthew Lillard got his Daredevil: Born Again role because he's DM to the showrunner
- DC is developing a new Batman comic with Cliff Chiang & Brian Azzarello, reuniting the 'New 52' Wonder Woman duo
- Livestream Critical Role, The Boys, and more panels from Seattle's ECCC 2026 free thanks to Signet Collectibles!
Dungeons & Dragons is cool now, and forgive me, but I don't think it's because of Stranger Things. I'd argue that it's due to the explosive popularity of a relatively new entertainment medium - that is, D&D actual play - and the endless watchability of the medium's most popular series, such as Dropout's Dimension 20. Originating in 2018 and created by comedian Brennan Lee Mulligan, D20 is an absolute force in the infant business of liveplay, with only shows like Critical Role measuring up to its popularity.
If you've clicked on this article, chances are you're looking to hop into the Dome (that is, Dimension 20's studio) yourself. That said, you're also probably bumping up against the first foible every fresh fan does as they start getting into it: there's just so goddamn much. Fortunately for you, "just so goddamn much" is kind of our bread and butter over here at Popverse, and we're here to make diving into your next TTRPG session just a teensy bit easier. How?
Why, with our Dimension 20 watch order, of course.
In the list below, we're going to take you through the series and explain the two ways that you can start your quest alongside the Intrepid Heroes. That's the show's core cast, by the way, though as you'll see when you start watching, the show switches out its players and GM (typically creator Mulligan) quite a bit.
But hey, we're getting ahead of ourselves here. Before we can really take a bite of this Scooby Doo-sized sword-and-sorcery sandwich, there's one question we should have answered. And that is...
What platform is Dimension 20 on?

Every episode that the Dimension 20 team has produced for consumption is available on Dropout. And as we'll see momentarily here, that doesn't just refer to the studio-filmed campaign episodes. Over its half-decade history, Dimension 20 has become a stadium affair, performing multiple times for live audiences in sold-out shows, all of which are also available on the comedy-centric streamer.
Alright, now that that's out of the way, let's dive into the most obvious way of experiencing the Intrepid Heroes and their various spinoffs...

Sure, it's not the shortest list in the world, but if you'd like to have an experience similar to the folks who have been with Dimension 20 since its very beginning, then this release order is the best way to do it. If you're looking to jump in a different way, though, there's another, slightly more manageable way to do so. But before we get to that, let me quickly answer a question you might've had while looking over the directory.
What's a Time Quangle?
Over the course of its many live performances, the Dimension 20 gang has repeatedly made use of something called a Time Quangle, which is a kind of one-time adventure that pulls in various elements (and cast members) from a multitude of seasons. As of this writing, the Time Quangles have worked in threads from the following pre-established campaigns:
- Fantasy High
- The Unsleeping City
- A Crown of Candy
- A Starstruck Odyssey
- Neverafter
So why is this important? Well, you're going to need to know about the times D20's multitude of fantasy realms have overlapped if you're going to jump into the show strictly from one of those universes' perspectives. In other words, you're going to need to understand the crossovers if you're ever going to answer...
What is the best way to start watching Dimension 20 in chronological order?

If you don't have the time to watch hundreds of hours-long episodes all in a row but still want to get into this premium example of a blooming genre, then perhaps the best way to pick up Dimension 20 is to start with one of its different chronologies, all of which take place in separate universes (except in the case of quangles). Whether you're into high fantasy, nightmarish fairytales, or far-flung science fiction, there's doubtless a Dimension 20 universe for you, and to make it easy on you, we'll explain what you need to watch to experience those respective universes right here.
Now let's begin, just as D20 themselves did, with...
Fantasy High

The first and most storied universe created under the Dimension 20 banner is Spyre, home to Aguefort Adventuring Academy, or as we might call it, the titular Fantasy High. After the original campaign under the Fantasy High name, adventures in Spyre continued with two sequels, two spinoffs, and a magic locker's worth of live shows and Quangles. Here they are, in chronological order.
- Fantasy High
- LIVE SHOW - Fantasy High LIVE in Brooklyn
- LIVE SHOW - Fantasy High LIVE at RTX Austin
- Fantasy High: Sophomore Year
- Pirates of Leviathan
- LIVE SHOW - College Visit - RTX @ Home Live
- LIVE SHOW - Boys' Night! - Roll20Con
- The Seven
- Fantasy High: Junior Year
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: Quangle in Queal Quife
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: Betrayed by Live Theater
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: A Candied Coup
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: The EnWoodening
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: The Wrong Kids
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: A New York Quangle
- LIVE SHOW - Battle at the Bowl
- LIVE SHOW - Quangle Quest
The Unsleeping City

Described by Mulligan as "a full love letter," to his hometown, 2019's Unsleeping City campaign was set in a mystical realm hidden just underneath the very real New York City. Spawning one sequel campaign and another handful of Quangles and live shows, the story of the Unsleeping City can be followed in this order:
- The Unsleeping City
- The Unsleeping City: Chapter II
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: Quangle in Queal Quife
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: Betrayed by Live Theater
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: A Candied Coup
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: The EnWoodening
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: The Wrong Kids
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: A New York Quangle
- LIVE SHOW - Gauntlet at the Garden
- LIVE SHOW - Quangle Quest
A Crown of Candy

Set in the food-themed universe of Calorum, the saga that began with 2020's Crown of Candy is best described as 'Candyland meets Game of Thrones.' Interestingly, this is the only time a chronological watch-through of one D20 universe differs from the release order, as Crown of Candy's 2023 follow-up, The Ravening War, is actually a prequel. View Calorum's history in order with the following list:
- The Ravening War
- A Crown of Candy
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: Quangle in Queal Quife
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: Betrayed by Live Theater
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: A Candied Coup
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: The EnWoodening
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: The Wrong Kids
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: A New York Quangle
- LIVE SHOW - Quangle Quest
Misfits and Magic

Set in a mystical realm hidden within London, the two-seasoned Misfits and Magic storyline could be considered Dimension 20's take on Harry Potter. Using the Kids on Brooms TTRPG system instead of the more familiar Dungeons & Dragons 5E, Misfits and Magic is also the only multi-campaign D20 universe that's never seen creator Mulligan in the GM chair. Watch the story unfold as follows:
- Misfits and Magic
- LIVE SHOW - Misfits and Magic Live at GenCon 2022
- Misfits and Magic Season 2
A Starstruck Odyssey

Technically, only one on-camera campaign takes place in the galaxy of A Starstruck Odyssey. However, what's fascinating about this space opera campaign is that it began not with Mulligan, but with his mom, playwright and comic book author Elaine Lee. First published as a stage play, then Marvel comic featuring art from Michael Kaluta, the spacefaring saga of A Starstruck Odyssey continues in the following order:
- A Starstruck Odyssey
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: Quangle in Queal Quife
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: Betrayed by Live Theater
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: A Candied Coup
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: The EnWoodening
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: The Wrong Kids
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: A New York Quangle
- LIVE SHOW - Quangle Quest
- LIVE SHOW - Viva Más Vegas
Neverafter

The darkest story yet to fall under the Dimension 20 banner, Neverafter is named after the realm in which it takes place, a warped and distinctly horror-driven universe populated by familiar fairy tale characters. If you're enough of a big kid (and hey, no shame if you're not), you can delve into the darkness of Neverafter like so:
- Neverafter
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: Quangle in Queal Quife
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: Betrayed by Live Theater
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: A Candied Coup
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: The EnWoodening
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: The Wrong Kids
- LIVE SHOW - Time Quangle: A New York Quangle
- LIVE SHOW - Quangle Quest
Dungeons and Drag Queens

Feeling down after those Neverafter details? The wild and wonderful saga of Dungeons & Drag Queens is the perfect remedy. As campy as you'd expect campaigns consisting of ex-Ru Paul contestants to be, D&DQ takes place in the universe of Kelvorda, whose history you should explore with the following simple list:
- Dungeons and Drag Queens
- Dungeons and Drag Queens Season 2
One-Off Adventures

It may be the last item on the chronological D20 list, but if you ask me, the show's one-off campaigns (listed below) are actually a great place to start for newcomers. Each of these adventures lasts only one season, with a clear beginning and end and, mercifully, just a few episodes to keep track of in order to follow the story. Don't get us wrong, keeping up with the whole Fantasy High saga is a thrill - but that's a thrill that takes time. And if you have very little of that, one of the following adventures might suit you better.
- Escape from the Bloodkeep
- Tiny Heist
- Mice & Murder
- Shriek Week
- Coffin Run
- A Court of Fey & Flowers
- Mentopolis
- Burrow's End
- Never Stop Blowing Up
- Titan Takedown
- Cloudward, Ho!
- Gladlands
With that final group explained, we wrap up our chronological Dimension 20 list. However, being as smart as you are, dear reader, there's probably one question that's come to mind while scrolling through this list that we should tag on at the end here. After all, with seven plus years of existence under the show's belt, it's perfectly reasonable to wonder...
Were any Dimension 20 episodes lost?

Unfortunately, the answer to that question is yes. So sorry, new D20 lover, but there is at least one episode of your new obsession that you'll never get to see. That episode was a live event, performed but not filmed at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo in 2019. While we don't have much info on what went down during the C2E2 show, we do know that it took place within the saga of the Fantasy High campaign, and thanks to the BTS show Fantasy High: Extra Credit, we know that one character was played by an audience member. It's a damn shame that we'll never get to see that.
Ah well, why focus on the past when there's clearly such a future ahead for this actual play pioneer? And speaking of futures...
What/when is the next Dimension 20 season?
As of this writing, we don't have info on what the next season of Dimension 20 will be about/when it will appear on the site, but to be fair, that's because we just kicked off a new campaign. Gladlands, the 27th season of the hit actual play series and the first to feature Dropout staples Vic Michaelis and Kimia Behpoornia, debuted on Dropout January 7. Watch the trailer for this new, post-apocalyptic picture of positivity in the video above.
And I think that's it for our little tour through the Dome... unless we're forgetting something?
DIMENSION 20 ON A BUS
Oh, right! How could we have possibly forgotten the only Dimension 20 season specifically designed to infuriate GM and creator Brennan Lee Mulligan?
Well, first of all, we clearly didn't, and second, there's a good reason not to include On a Bus as one of the regular seasons of Dimension 20. First proposed by Dropout staple Katie Marovitch on the Game Change season 7 episode Fool's Gold, On a bus is a campaign with no discernible storyline, gameplay mechanic, or characters. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that GM and creator Marovitch admittedly does not know how TTRPGs are played.
You know - rather than continuing to describe On a Bus to you, it might be easier if you just watch the first (and only) episode here, courtesy of Dropout's YouTube.
