Fourth Wing, ACOTAR and other Romantasy titles dominate the first audiobook Spotify Wrapped
Sarah J. Maas and Rebecca Yarros don't look like they're giving up the top spot in the romantasy genre anytime soon.

It is that time of year. The time when your Spotify Wrapped is released and displays just how many times you listened to the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack or what Taylor Swift earworm just wouldn’t leave you in peace. This year, Spotify is including your audiobook listening habits in their annual Spotify Wrapped data, and, surprise surprise, we all binged a lot of romantasy books like Fourth Wing and A Court of Thorns and Roses.
Rebecca Yarros wrote two of the top ten most-streamed audiobooks on Spotify in 2025, according to reports. Fourth Wing was at number one while Iron Flame was at number two. Sarah J. Maas was the most-streamed author thanks to her A Court of Thorns and Roses series. Both authors are among the most popular in the romantasy genre, which Spotify’s European manager for audiobooks called “a major cultural phenomenon.” So, can you really blame Wizards of the Coast for teasing us with a romantasy-inspired Magic: The Gathering set?
Katie del Rosario, Spotify’s North American associate director for audiobooks editorial, said that this year’s “biggest trends were definitely spicy romance and romantasy, which continue to dominate book culture. A big reason for the genre’s success is that it is starting to carve out space among male readers. While romantasy has always been driven by women, men now account for around 15% of listeners, according to Spotify. Because men like a little smut sometimes, too.
Were there a few romantasy titles in your Spotify Wrapped this year? If so, trust that you aren’t alone.
