Following the conclusion of its chaotic first season, MarriageToxin Season 2 has been confirmed by the studio. With a 2027 release window, we won’t have to wait long to see what happens next for Hikaru and Mei in their quest to find love. Series creator Joumyaku says they are “hella grateful” that we’ll be getting more MarriageToxin anime next year.

The announcement came as the final episode of MarriageToxin Season 1 finished airing in Japan. A new announcement trailer was released at the same time. Meanwhile, series creator Joumyaku said via a press release that they were “floored” by the news that MarriageToxin is getting a second season. “I’m hella grateful!! Thanks to the anime staff, who make the original work 1000% more amazing, and the voice cast, who breathe life into the characters with their incredible performances.”

We aren’t exactly surprised that MarriageToxin is getting a second season. It came into the Spring 2026 season with a strong concept of a socially inept assassin and the crossdressing con artist helping him find a wife and animation by Bones Film (My Hero Academia), which ensured there was plenty of buzz around it. The interesting thing is that MarriageToxin Season 2 is coming in 2027, just one year after the first season aired. It isn’t unusual for new series to have much longer gaps between seasons as production committees tend to be more cautious about overcommitting. But when the whole show is about someone searching for marriage, commitment shouldn’t be an issue.

MarriageToxin Season 2 is coming in 2027.
