Here's why Simone Ashley’s Kate Sharma is returning for future seasons of Bridgerton, according to showrunner Jess Brownell

Kate might have already had her big dream wedding on Bridgerton, but that doesn't mean that Netflix is done with actress Simone Ashley.

As much as Bridgerton is all about the couple of the season, that supporting cast is almost as important. Without Mama Bridgerton, none of her kids would be who they are, and, apparently, Eloise is going to need some help from a familiar face to find love. According to Bridgerton showrunner Jess Brownell, Kate is going to play a big role in Eloise’s season of Bridgerton – whenever it finally happens.

We already know that the next two seasons of Bridgerton will focus on both Eloise and Francesca, though the showrunner didn’t confirm which would come first. When it comes to Eloise’s season, showrunner Jess Brownell wants to build up the relationship between Claudia Jessie’s Eloise and Simone Ashley’s Kate Sharma.

Kate, of course, married into the Bridgerton family in Season 2 of the show. However, Simone Ashley has returned for both Season 3 and Season 4 to reprise the role. Brownell isn’t done with her just yet, either.

“I also am really partial to the relationship between Kate and Eloise,” Brownell said in a recent interview. “That’s something that I’d like to continue following in the future. So when we eventually get to Eloise’s season, Kate is someone I’ll be very interested to have around, if I can.”

Of course, it all depends on those all-important schedules, but for a show like Bridgerton, which has proven to be one of the biggest hits Netflix has, we’re sure Ashley can clear her schedule. If they can work it out, we can look forward to seeing Kate help Eloise find love.
