Critical Role’s Travis Willingham says they have a ton of Exandria projects in the works
The world of Exandria will be expanded in television, film, video games, and more

Exandria is a world full of wonder and adventure, and the Critical Role cast are hoping to return to it soon. Exandria is the setting for Critical Role’s first three campaigns, and we may see it in some unexpected places going forward.
“We are constantly trying to develop anything and everything out of Exandria in animated series, live-action TV pitches, feature film pitches, interactive video game pitches. There are whole teams working on things,” Travis Willingham says during a Critical Role spotlight panel at Emerald City Comic Con 2026.
“We’re definitely not sleeping on any of that stuff. It’s all going on behind the scenes, and it’s a matter of timing and budgets and all sorts of things. We’re actively working on all of it.”
This echoes similar comments from Critical Role’s Liam O’Brien, who said there are plans to return to Exandria in the future.
We already know that one of those possible projects is an animated film set during the Calamity war. The other things Willingham mentions sound interesting too. He mentions a live-action series, and after the success of Game of Thrones and The Wither, I think the landscape is right for a prestige show set in Exandria. If anyone can pull it off, it’s the Critical Role gang.
