If you think about it, the Backrooms and the Amazing Digital Circus aren’t that different. Both are internet properties from independent creators who found mainstream success. Both involve characters finding themselves trapped in an inescapable alternate reality. Both involve intense psychological torture.

Which leads me to wonder what would happen if the Amazing Digital Circus characters were dropped in the Backrooms? The voice actors for the popular web series have thought about this, and it’s about as insane as you would expect.

“Well, I think that Jax would probably handle it about as well as Clark. Not great. Just like, ‘I don’t have to change,’” Jax voice actor Michael Kovach says during a panel at Florida Supercon.

“I’m just like imagining a horrible made Jax abomination with like sagging purple skin revealing the yellow underneath,” Caine voice actor Alex Rochon says. “I think Caine would also try interior decorating in the Backrooms,” Kovach adds.

“I think Ragatha would try to do the exact same thing she does in the circus. Keep that mind healthy and stimulated. And stay away from Jax,” Ragatha actress Amanda Hufford says.

To be fair, stay away from Jax is good advice no matter what setting you’re in. Either way, this is one crossover that would be insane to see. I know there’s a lot of talented artists and animators on the internet, so let’s hope one of them puts together a mind-bending fan video.
