The final chapter of My Dress-Up Darling has finally come, but there is still a little more to Gojo and Marin's story to come.

The news that the My Dress-Up Darling manga was ending hit us all hard. The incredibly popular story about cosplay, love, and awkward teenagers spawned a hit that surpassed some of the biggest titles in Japan. Now that the final chapter has been published and we’ve all had time to think about it a bit, we’re here to explain the ending of My Dress-Up Darling and muse on whether this is really the end of Gojo and Marin’s story.
We’ll be discussing spoilers for the My Dress-Up Darling manga ending, so if you’re waiting for season two to finally air, you might want to look away now.
What happen in My Dress-Up Darling's ending?

Chapter 115 of My Dress-Up Darling was published in March 2025. After a few chapters of seeing Marin and Gojo awkwardly trying to navigate their new relationship dynamic, this one opened up with a time skip. A few years down the line, we see that the pair made good on their promise to continue their adventures together.
In the final chapter, Gojo and Marin move in with Gojo’s grandfather and get married, as evidenced by the wedding photos and the wedding ring that we see in Marin’s hand. She is a successful model, as shown by her face in a giant advertisement. Meanwhile, Gojo has seemingly taken over his grandfather’s hina doll business and even has a feature on local news about his work. He’s still awkward and shy, but it is clear that he has achieved his dream of becoming a recognized hina doll maker.
Together with Gojo’s grandfather and Marin’s father, the family shares a meal to celebrate Gojo’s success in the final panels of the My Dress-Up Darling manga.
Is this really the end of My Dress-Up Darling?
As we suspected when the final chapter was suddenly announced in February 2025, the final chapter of My Dress-Up Darling leaves many plot threads unresolved. Marin being on the cusp of real celebrity thanks to her latest cosplay, for example, is never addressed. The final chapter also skips over the pair having to navigate their different comfort levels with public affection which is hinted at in some of the later chapters.
Fortunately, there is still a bit more My Dress-Up Darling to come. The final page of Chapter 115 promises an epilogue and a side story “in the near future” but doesn’t give a release date. If we were guessing, both the epilogue and side story, which may wrap up a lot of the plot threads that have been left dangling, will be published in the final volume of the manga.
Again, we’re speculating here, but we expect the final volume of My Dress-Up Darling to be volume 15, which hasn’t been announced yet. The next volume to be published in English will be volume 13, which will be out in April 2025. There are still enough chapters for two more volumes after that, but when the true ending of My Dress-Up Darling finally happens is still a question without an answer.
Was the My Dress-Up Darling ending good?

Hey, good is an objective thing. If you enjoyed the final chapter of My Dress-Up Darling, we’re happy for you. However, there was a lot that wasn’t resolved by the end. Although it is normal for romance manga to end shortly after the couple gets together, there was a lot of build-up that didn’t have much of a payoff. We would have liked to see Gojo and Marin navigate their new relationship a little more.
It is also worth noting that there was no mention of cosplay in the final chapter – we see the studio that the pair have set up in their home, with the costumes and props they’ve made, but nothing to indicate they have a new project on the go. It was a little disappointing that a series that was so dedicated to cosplay through its run almost forgot that the hobby existed as the pair got older.
Again, this is our opinion – if you loved the ending of My Dress-Up Darling, then we’re happy for you. For us, though, the upcoming epilogue is going to have a lot of work to do to give a satisfying ending to the manga.
