Dispatch season 2 could be on the way after the AdHoc Studios and Critical Role hit exceeds sales expectations

After 1 million copies of Dispatch being sold, it looks like the former Telltale Games developers are wondering where to go with season 2, which is a good problem to have.

Video games have become harder and more expensive to make over the years, which is why many studios are hedging their bets when it comes to development. However, after Dispatch, the first game from the former Telltale Games devs at AdHoc Studios and Critical Role, sold more than a million copies in just over a week, it changed the studio’s math a bit and opened the door to a potential second season.

AdHoc Studios co-founder Pierre Shorette appeared on a podcast recently to talk about the success of Dispatch. Specifically, he discussed how the incredible sales have meant that we might be getting more from the world of Dispatch. “We’re going to have to at least think about season two now,” he explained. “That was a question mark three weeks ago. So that’s great – it’s a very cool problem to have.”

Formed after the messy ending of Telltale Games, AdHoc Studios features many of the developers who found themselves suddenly out of work. Dispatch continues the narrative adventure game legacy that Telltale became known for and features the voices of Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul and several members of the Critical Role cast in a superhero workplace comedy. Episodes 1-6 have already been released, with Episodes 7 and 8 coming out on November 12, 2025.

It might seem like a very niche game on paper, but it has clearly struck a chord with players. It is clear that Dispatch has exceeded AdHoc’s expectations. As a result, it sounds like we may be getting a second season to play through.
