BookCon 2026 announced as ReedPop's celebration of storytelling returns to New York's Javits Center after seven years

Making a triumphant return for the first time since 2019, BookCon is taking place at the Javits Center in New York in April 2026

Hey, you! You’re a reader, right? You like books? What are you doing next April?

If you’re anywhere close to New York City, you should make a point of attending BookCon, the two-day celebration of storytelling, writing, publishing, and the whole shebang that’s making a triumphant comeback to the Javits Center on April 18 and 19, 2026 after more than five years. The event, created and organized by ReedPop (which also owns Popverse), had previously run from 2014 through 2019, before being put on hiatus during the COVID pandemic of 2020. Starting next year, it’s back, and better than ever.

“BookCon has always been an incredibly special event to our team and when we made the difficult decision to cancel the show in 2020, we did so with the hope that we would bring the event back even bigger and better when the time felt right,” said ReedPop event director Jenny Martin in a statement. “We are so excited to welcome our BookCon community home next April for an event that has been fully reimagined to include everything fans loved about BookCon, plus so much more. At BookCon, we believe stories are sacred, books are identity, and community is everything. We invite all of you to join us as we create a space where passion is celebrated and all of you are our main characters.”

Announcements about details of the event — including on-sale dates for tickets, guest announcements, and exhibitor information — will follow in the next few months, but for now, mark your calendars and prepare your travel. BookCon 2026 is a go… and yes, of course, Popverse is going to be there. Want more information? Head over to Bookcon.com and sign up for the newsletter.

Just like yourself, the Popverse staff spends a whole lot of time with our respective noses in respective books. It's why we've come up with stuff like:

...and a whole lot more. Join our metaphorical library, won't you? There are no late fees and you can be as loud as you want, so long as the people you live with are OK with it.
