Lucasfilm has just announced that a digitally remastered (for IMAX) Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be returning to theaters alongside special exclusive footage of the upcoming Disney+ series Andor, which will star Diego Luna as Cassian Andor, one of the central characters in Rogue One. This limited engagement will take place during the week of August 26 at 150 IMAX theaters across the United States and Canada.

Rogue One was originally released in 2016 and was directed by Gareth Jones. The film served as a prequel to the first Star Wars movie and starred Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Donnie Yen, and Ben Mendolsohn.

The upcoming Disney+ series Andor is meant to take place five years before Rogue One, while people are just beginning their attempts at rebellion against the Empire and Cassian grows into the character that we later recognize from the film. Lucasfilm's press release reads, "The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It is an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into the rebel hero that we see in Rogue One."

The first three episodes of Andor will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on September 21. Then, if Disney follows the patterns of their previous releases, the show will debut one episode a week until it finishes its 12-episode season.
