What to Watch After Outlander: Find Me in Paris

Although Find Me in Paris is more geared toward a YA audience, Outlander fans may find it surprisingly appealing because the shows share several core elements. Just like Outlander, Find Me in Paris is a time-travel drama built around the emotional complexity that comes with being torn between two eras, and centered on a strong female lead. The series follows Lena Grisky, a talented ballerina from 1905, who suddenly finds herself transported to modern-day Paris, France, and is forced to grow and evolve as she adapts to her new world. As Lena tries to unravel time-travel mechanics and how to return home, she must learn how to navigate the challenges of being a young woman in the 21st century—from smartphones and social media to hip-hop and modern relationships—all while keeping her identity and time-traveling secret hidden. The show's strong storytelling, rich character arcs, and beautiful visuals make it enjoyable for viewers of all ages—especially fans of shows like Outlander that explore time travel, identity, and a romantic love triangle stretched across eras.
What to Watch After Outlander: The Time Traveler's Wife

The 2009 movie The Time Traveler's Wife is based on the popular novel by Audrey Niffenegger. Like Outlander, the story of the film follows a lead protagonist, Chicago librarian Henry De Tamble (Eric Bana), who drifts uncontrollably back and forth through time, a paranormal ability that is complicated by the fact that he arrives at his destinations completely naked. While on one of his time-traveling sojourns, he meets the love of his life, Clare Abshire (Rachel McAdams), and marries her. Like Claire and Jamie's relationship in Outlander, Clare and Henry's relationship is complicated by one partner's inability to remain in one time and place.
What to Watch After Outlander: Highlander: The Series

Also prominently set in the Scottish Highlands, the 1990s fantasy action-adventure television show Highlander: The Series follows Duncan MacLeod (Adrian Paul) of the Scottish Clan MacLeod, an Immortal who fights on the side of good as the titular Highlander. Fans of Outlander's use of Scottish heritage will love Highlander's blend of modern and historical settings and incorporation of real-life events and people from throughout Western history. While Outlander uses time travel to bring these story elements to viewers, Highlander uses immortality to explore the long, complex lives of its characters across different periods. If you're drawn to the idea of characters experiencing multiple lifetimes and the challenges that come with it, Highlander plays with this theme extensively, offering the same mix of action and drama that Outlander fans love.
What to Watch After Outlander: Pride & Prejudice

If you love Outlander for its great historical costumes and high-stakes drama and romance, then check out the 1995 version of Pride & Prejudice, starring Colin Firth as the ever-sexy gentleman of means Fitzwilliam Darcy and Jennifer Ehle as the fiercely intelligent, unapologetically defiant Elizabeth Bennett, who challenges the gender roles of her time while navigating her deeply passionate romance with Mr. Darcy. Widely considered the best and most faithful adaptation of Jane Austen's 1813 novel, the BBC miniseries has defined the romantic tastes and fantasies of millennials for decades. Don't believe us? Ask Bridget Jones Diary writer Helen Fielding, who was so inspired by the 1995 adaptation that she cast Firth himself to play the character that his version of Mr. Darcy inspired her to create. Like Outlander, 1995's Pride & Prejudice is a sharp blend of romance and social scheming, skillfully woven through the dreams and deceptions of a provincial upper class.
What to Watch After Outlander: A Time Called You

The K-drama space is full of shows that mix gut-wrenching romantic plots with time travel and fantasy. At the top of the list for Outlander fans is the 2023 K-drama limited series A Time Called You on Netflix. Initially set in the present day, the series follows Jun-hee, a grief-stricken woman struggling to come to terms with the untimely death of her long-term partner. After an unknown Instagram account sends Jun-hee a mysterious message of a picture of teens who look just like her and her ex, she wakes up in the late-1990s and comes face-to-face with a man who looks exactly like the boyfriend she just lost.
What to Watch After Outlander: A Discovery of Witches

Like other Outlander fans, the first thing I did when I finished the most recent season was ask Google, "What to watch after Outlander?" Over and over on social media platforms, I saw Outlander fans recommend to other fans that they should check out the AMC series A Discovery of Witches, a British fantasy series about a witch and a vampire who fall in love while navigating ancient magical politics that is based on Deborah Harkness's All Souls Trilogy of novels (for those who don't know, Outlander is also based on a book series by Diana Gabaldon). However, the show's similarities don't stop with both being based on popular novels. A Discovery of Witches is like Outlander with more fantasy, but the same mix of forbidden romance, destiny, and time travel. Each show is known for its Romeo & Juliet vibe and forbidden love storyline, with intense, romantic chemistry between lead protagonists who come from backgrounds with opposite loyalties and must learn to work together for the greater good.
